Chocolate Studded Almond Crescents

Chocolate Studded Almond Crescents

(Not Just) Holiday Cookies

I was going to take a break from baking, but this recipe called out to me and, hon, the cookies are buttery, not too sweet, and delicious! They’re great for the holidays and all year round. Shout out to Sheila for the recipe, which will now be in my repertoire of cookie regulars. Yum!

Happy baking!

Chocolate Studded Almond Crescents
  • 1/2 pound sweet butter
  • 1 cup confectioners sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Cream sugar with butter until fluffy. Beat in egg and almond.
  3. Sift flour and baking powder and add to batter. Mix well.
  4. Fold in chocolate.
  5. Chill 1 hour until firm.
  6. Roll into 1 inch balls. Roll balls 2 inches long and taper ends. Bend onto crescents.
  7. Place 1 inch apart and bake for 12 minutes.
  8. While still hot, dust with confectioners sugar. Cool.
  9. Store in tight tin or airtight container. Freezes well.
